Honour Animals in Warfare with the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society

    The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is honouring animals who’ve served in conflict by recognizing their contributions via our Animals in Warfare marketing campaign, launching on Oct. 11 and working till Remembrance Day.  

    A wide range of animals have served throughout instances of conflict. Mules carried artillery, horses transported troops and hauled discipline weapons, pigeons delivered essential messages, canine served as messengers, medical assistants, bomb detectors and search and rescue employees whereas cats served as companions and stored ships freed from vermin.

    Animals in Warfare Pin 

    The Ontario SPCA is promoting  commemorative Animals in Warfare pins main as much as Remembrance Day. The pin is meant to be worn as a complement to the poppy in remembrance of our veterans and the animals who bravely served by their sides. 

    The primary Animals in Warfare pin was launched in 2017, with the present assortment together with a canine, a pigeon and a cat. The animal on the pin symbolizes the wartime contributions of all animals.
